Description

This image represents the first light of the Altair Astro Hypercam 26C and needless to say I’m very happy with it, the files are incredibly clean. So much so that I processed this image despite having no calibration frames for it yet

The target had to be Orion, but I shied away from the headline setters and went for a personal favourite of mine. M78

This RGB composition has M78 and The Boogeyman Nebula separated by a sea of Hydrogen Alpha from Bernard’s Loop

The detail is beautiful and the star colour from the 16bit sensor is just absolutely stunning

First light was a major success

25x240s stacked in DSS with no calibration

Processed in PixInsight, SiriL and Photoshop
